Welcome to Caramel-by-the-Sea —
where Monterey pines kiss the ocean mist,
witches own bakeries,
and fairy lights never really go out.

Ally Wisp hasn’t entered the Spring Art Festival in three years.
Not since her husband died.

But when a mysterious vial of enchanted ash appears in her shop…her pottery begins to glow with something new.

And so does her heart.

Rowan arrives in town with a camera, a quiet smile, and eyes that seem to know too much.

He says he wants to help.

He doesn’t say why he came.

In a village that keeps secrets behind hidden passages and ancient wards,

Ally must decide:

Is the magic returning to her life a blessing…

or a warning?

About the Author

Jackie Vest lives in North Carolina with her two sons and five beloved cats. Born in Upstate New York, she grew up devouring books, starting with Sweet Valley High and The Baby-Sitters Club before graduating to Stephen King as a teenager. Her reading adventures led her through countless genres discovered during treasure hunts at Goodwill. She eventually found her true literary home in the magical intersection of fantasy, paranormal, romance, and mystery.

A believer in magic and the hidden wonders our mundane eyes can't quite see, Jackie spent years being told she should write her own stories. Fear held her back. Until a battle with breast cancer in her mid-forties changed everything. Emerging from that experience, she decided it was finally time to stop being afraid and start creating the magical worlds she'd always dreamed of.

When she's not writing, you might find Jackie rescuing cats (she spent years finding homes for a growing colony) or plotting her next cozy mystery. She has poured her heart into this series and hopes readers will love spending time in this magical world as much as she has loved creating it.
